The Lord God “commands all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30 ). When? NOW! The command of God is to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” When? NOW! God demands immediate obedience to His Son and belief of His gospel. Nothing less than sincere faith in Christ NOW pleasing to God! The thief may desire to quit stealing, and he may pray to be able to give it up; yet he is still a thief and a rebel until he actually repents and gives up his dishonest life. Men may listen to the gospel, and desire the blessings of the gospel, and even pray to believe; but “He that believeth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). NOW! There is no such thing as being “almost a Christian.” Our Lord said, “He that is not with me is against me” (Matt. 12:30). Regardless of one’s knowledge, information, and intentions, if he is not NOW a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, he is antichrist!
